Justin, 4.22.13 | Nixa High Class of 2013 | Missouri Portrait Photographer

I’ve been waiting for what seems like forever to post Justin’s session! This is also a new experiment with the blog. NORMALLY, I’d post the things I love about the session, then I’d just post pics with a few comments here and there. Today I’m not only throwing in the fun little story from that night, but you’ll ALSO get to hear from Justin about his thoughts on having his senior pics done.

Sooo, the light was perfect, Justin was awesome, I got to hear some amazing music, and I lost some equipment.

Wait, what? Yup! Down the drain… so to speak.

Here we are, truckin’ along, taking some great pics. We get to this bridge that we just LOVE. I set down my bag, get the camera ready, and here we go. Of course, this bridge is over a rushing creek. The rain has been really good to us this year; well silly old me decides it’s a GOOD idea to CHUCK MY LENS CAP at my bag, ON THE BRIDGE! Oh boy, right? So, like any sane person, I go diving into the creek to fetch my oh so precious cap ,right?

Naaah. I shoot Justin scouring underneath this bridge for the lens cap time and again, periodically looking down myself to see if it settled into the murk or swam away with the fishies. AND I got some great pics out of all this!!

The good news is I DID get my lens cap back thanks to some patience, and some reallllly long limbs.

But enough from me, let’s see what Justin had to say about his senior session!

What school do you attend?

Nixa High

Are you a Junior or Senior? When do you graduate?

Senior. 2013

If you could take one thing with you from your senior portrait experience, what would it be?

Trying to find the lens cap and seeing the pictures you snapped of me doing it.

What was your favorite thing about your session?

Getting to see some new places

What did you want this session to convey about you and about your senior year?

I wanted it to convey the things I do and my style.

What is one tip you can share with other seniors who are on the fence about having their senior portraits done?

Have them done anyways because you may find that you really enjoy it.

Would you recommend Kris Walden Photography to your friends?

Yes I would

It’s already

that time of year again. You know what I’m talking about. You spend days agonizing over it’s color, hours on your hair, nails, and skin, and you’ve been polishing up those dance moves you learned on Just Dance 4.

It’s PROM!!! But something’s missing. What could it be… Oh YEAH! You don’t have your photographer booked yet! Well guess what? There’s still time!!! So hurry up and pick up the phone or shoot me an email! Prom only comes once a year, and often on the same night as that other school you’ve been dying to show up this year, so don’t lose your spot!!

Need a little incentive? Some of these gorgeous gals and strapping young men from Nixa had a blast doing their shoot last year!

Brianna, 3.13.12 |UCM Class of 2013 | Missouri Portrait Photographer

Brianna is a one of kind gem. We met at UCM and have been fast friends since. Brianna is also a photo major and will be graduating this Spring 2013 in May. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to shoot with her once more before she heads off to the coast to start her career and be with her friends and family. Bri has a unique style of photography, and her personality reflects in everything she says and does. Keep striving Bri! I know you’ll do great things! Just don’t forget all of us here in the Midwest. :)

Stop it Bri. She makes this modeling thing look easy!Image

Loving the pose and the colors! :)ImageImageImageImageImageI think these last two are my absolute favorite, and I had a hard time narrowing them down to begin with!

Sharice, 11.03.12 | Nixa Class of 2013 | Missouri Portrait Photographer

Sharice’s session was so much fun. And I learned a lot about her during our shoot. Not only is she a star softball player for Nixa and her summer league, but she is also an avid hunter, explorer, and all around outdoorsy young lady. Before our session began, we ran into a very interesting snag, BUT I can’t tell you what it is, so you’ll have to make do with these incredible images we made. :)

Walden+Boswell E-session, 10.27.12 | Missouri Wedding Photographer

I get excited when I’m asked to shoot weddings. Really, they excite me. Not a lot of people (men especially) will tell you that. I get even more excited when my own family wants me to take care of their special moments. When Reynel asked me to be their wedding photographer, I smiled, A LOT! I got to meet Michelle, who is an incredible person. I got to hear about their wedding plans, how they met, how long they’ve been together. I learned they both work as nurses for Mercy in Kansas City. I got to see their beautiful home, and I got to shoot these pictures with my best friend, Chelsea Kane. We had a marvelous time in Kansas City. We got to catch up, make new friends, and create awesome memories (and a sweet Save the Date video!). They got to meet a wonderful friend of mine in the process, and I’m pretty sure they loved her (like EVERYONE we work with does). It was, in a word, stupendous. So check out their STUPENDOUS shots and leave some love for the lovebirds!

Boyce+Martin E-session, 10.13.12 | Missouri Wedding Photographer

In October I had the honor of shooting my old classmate and photo friend Cassandra Martin’s engagement pictures. Cassie is a wondeful photographer and an amazing friend, and Tommy’s a great guy, whom I’ve had the opportunity to get to know on more than one occasion (he makes some awesome brownies too!). On September 14, 2013, they’ll be happily wed, and I’m thrilled to be a part of that adventure!  Check out these awesome people!

The McKnights, 10.06.12 | Missouri Portrait Photographer

The McKnights were such a fun couple to shoot.

Gene is the leader of my grandpa Holt’s church in Strafford. They wanted a few pics to share with their family, and we met in their home down in Fordland, MO. It was a short (20 minutes, wow!), cold, but incredible day! They are simply amazing people, and I am so blessed to have met them!
