Woo!

I thought I’d check in on you all since it’s been so long since my last post. First, I’d like to announce some amazing events coming up in my life! Just finished a very COLD but amazing crowning and headshots session with our very first Miss Missouri Junior High, Lauren Slamb! I’ll be posting soon about Ms. Lauren (photos included, of course!), so keep your eyes open for fun stuff like this!

As many of you know, I’m SUPER excited about Miss Katie Bond and Mr. Mark Hillix’s summer wedding this June (6-2-12 if you’re wondering). Don’t forget to check out their “Save the Date” video on www.vimeo.com/kriswaldenphoto.
AND, this last bit of news I saved for last because I’m SO excited about it! KWPV has been through some pretty big and memorable changes recently, but I’m happy to announce the greatest and most memorable change of them all: Kris Walden Photography is officially registered in the state of Missouri through Christian County (where I reside). Yes, this means yet another name change, but I’m pleased to tell you it will be the last (finally, right!?). Unfortunately, it will take some time for these changes to take place within the website and the blog; however, if you’d like to drop on by facebook and add my new Photo PROFILE, I’d be most appreciative. Tying the Knot?

Looking back, I’m thankful on what blessings I received in 2011.

Among those, my little sister got engaged! I’m excited to be doing their engagement photos in the future, which brings me to another thought: How many lovely ladies (and fine gentleman of course) became a FIANCE over the holidays?

Lilita!

A few weeks ago Lily and I decided she was long overdue for some headshots, and since she had recently been shopping a few days prior, we packed our bags and headed to downtown Warrensburg! The shoot was beyond successful! Lily always has a ton of energy to spare, and we hammed it up all afternoon! One of my favorite things about Lily is her eyes! I know we photographers say that a lot, but she has some incredible eyes! And while I could go on for quite a while about how much fun we had on location, I think we’ll cue my favorite “without further ado” phrase and show off some of beautiful images of an amazingly beautiful young lady!

This is Christmas!

As the year comes to a close, I’ve had time to reflect on all the changes I’ve experienced in 2011: New friends, new photography, new adventures, new life, everything changes every year. This year I finished my education at the University of Central Missouri, and now I am well on my way to tackling the fresh challenges of the world, OUTSIDE of the classroom! I’ve made some great friends, and many I will miss. My faith was tested, as were my skills. As we come to the end of 2011, I want so say “Thank you!” to all of you wonderful people, and most especially to those who have helped me get to where I am.

AND, as 2012 approaches, many are making their New Year’s resolutions. My greatest dream for 2012 is to KEEP dreaming big, and to push myself harder than ever before in all areas of life. And I plan to fail, a LOT, because that’s how I learn to get better at things. That’s how I love to learn. So bring on the challenges Two thousand and twelve, because it’s going to be a BIG year, with BIG changes, lead by an even BIGGER God!

Striking!

Really the only word I can think of to describe this image! Logan’s session was certainly a refreshing one. I don’t often have gentleman who like to have their pictures taken, but when I do, they always turn out to be quite the characters, and they are full of surprises! Can’t wait to get to the rest of these!
